Samfunnskunnskapsprøvenexample #8

What is an example of an objective sentence?

  • She sings nicely
  • The car was good to drive
  • A truck is larger than a car

Explanation

That something is objective means that it is about the object, i.e., something everyone can see.

Ice cream can be white with red strawberry sprinkles. It is completely objective because everyone can see it. No one will claim that it is green with lemon sprinkles. Nor is there anyone who will say, "No, it's not ice cream, it's a car." So it is pretty objectively an ice cream, it is white, and it has red strawberry sprinkles.

Whether I like to eat ice cream or not, that's my subjective opinion, because it's about me.
